i think the hot air balloon is a super powerful card, it has a 1 min cooldown on it and you can see literally everything on your opponents side of the map. not many people use this card but its very good for raiding and finding out what units u should make to counter the enemies

3 Settler op

my fav or brit is virgina company.... omg 87 wood for a house and a free settler .. one of the best cards in the whole game

if you use that your economy starts to run short around 40 villagers and sure you can boom fast but at the cost of your army. better cards to send that end you around 60-65 villagers would be the 700 wood 600 wood and both 4 and 5 villager cards

Virginia Company is age 1 card so you don't need to choose between that and 700 wood.
It not all games where there is time to manor boom tho, so against fast civs it could be wise to take 3 settlers instead as it give a more instant boost.

The combination of virginia in age 1 and 700 wood in age 2 is very good tho, you can build your manors in line so they make a wall, and you will always want wood so if you not making longbows it means you can have fewer lumbers wich boost the military economy anyway.

The diffrence between a good civ and a Over powered civ, is that with the good civ you have a bonus wich wount win you the game but helps alot, while the OP civ have a bonus wich more or less win you the game...

British is a good civ and not a OP civ, with the point that manor boom is great, and there a huge advantice in have more settlers. But it not a problem for them, you will not need to ship 600 wood or 4,5 settlers. You already ahead of economy, your intresst should be more in line with get a army or get fortress in a safe way.

Portugies is ofcourse alot diffrent then British, but it still a decent example of why a bonus wich allow you to get a better economy aint so great as it sound. Mainly becouse better economy is a long term advantice but also becouse that a great economy vs a good economy is alot harder to win then a average economy vs a poor...

what you do is ship the 700 wood 5 villager 600 wood and 4 villager so you are shipping literally ur entire economy and the rest of your villagers have almost all on food and coin so they support your army

btw i got this strat from the top players as in rank 38+ and they all do this, of course you can always change it a bit as circumstances come up but this is the basic build order

German crossbowman card is op too, 9 crossbowmen + 2 uhlans. Other races only get 8 crossbowmen.

It a "old" card which was needed to stand any chance vs fast rushes, German is one of the slower civs to get to colony & slow shipments, they do get free uhlans but they not much help vs fast heavy infantery rushes... in short is the card from the time when Ottoman jannisary rush was a huge problem to beat, nowadays the closest reason to why it have to be 9 would be Sionx clubmen rush.

ya iono i think the 9 xbow card is one of the best in game.. iono i think german rush is really good .... i can get around 24 xbow and 4 uhlans at 7 min
